POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to oversee the successful execution of wood-frame multifamily, mixed-use, and commercial construction projects. This role requires an experienced leader who excels in managing complex projects, ensuring quality, and driving efficiency from pre-construction through closeout ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget. Additionally, this role will provide guidance and mentoring to the project team and enhance customer relationships by delivering excellent service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee all phases of construction projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution
- Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion within budget
- Lead project teams, including subcontractors, consultants, and internal staff, to achieve project goals
- Manage project budgets, perform cost control, determine cost codes, approve invoices and ensure accurate financial reporting to ensure overall financial health of projects
- Manage change orders, billings and contract management, including subcontract drafting, negotiating, and execution
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, building codes, and company standards related to quality and risk management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for owner/clients, fostering strong relationships and addressing concerns to resolve issues
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, address challenges, and ensure quality control
- Prepare and present project reports, status updates, and risk assessments to stakeholders
- Structure and manage the team’s execution of procurement, work planning, and general work coordination
- Mentor and develop project managers and team members
- Collaborate effectively with Superintendent, Financial Services Team and other stakeholders
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in project management, preferably in wood-frame multifamily, mixed-use, and commercial construction
- Proven ability to manage projects exceeding $75 million
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project)
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- PMP certification preferred
- Proven ability to fulfill development to closeout responsibilities for complex projects
- Detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasks
- Possess understanding of basic construction law and generally accepted business practices
- Proven positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skills
- Ability to interpret and communicate GenCap policies and lead by example
LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS
- A valid Driver’s License is required
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or related certifications (e.g., LEED AP) is a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires the following with or without an accommodation: sitting, walking, standing, lifting, climbing, pushing, pulling, hearing, and visual acuity. This person must be physically capable of reviewing a jobsite multiple times daily.
The working environments consist of exposure to dirt, heat, noise, dust, and outdoor weather; as well as indoor and climate-controlled settings.
SALARY RANGE: $160,000 - $185,000 per year plus annual bonus and profit share plan
